Sleep Consultant Near Me (“we”) runs sleepconsultantnearme.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Enquiries and get-matched requests: your name, email, optional phone and postcode, your child’s age range and your message.
- Guide and email list: your email, optional first name and your child’s birth or due date.
- Feedback: your ratings and answers, optional email and postcode.
- Consultants: business contact details, claim details and billing records (card details are handled by Stripe, never by us).
- Clicks to consultants: when you follow a link to a consultant’s website, booking page, socials or phone, we record which listing, which kind of link, where on our site it was and when. Nothing that identifies you, and we delete these after 24 months. Website and booking links carry utm_ tags naming this site, so the consultant can see the visit came from us.
- Technical: a one-way hash of your IP address to prevent spam, and privacy-friendly page statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.
How we use it
To send your enquiry to the consultant you chose, but only when you tick the box allowing it. To email your shortlist or guide. To moderate and publish feedback. With your separate consent, feedback answers with identifying details removed are used for research and reports about child sleep services. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
The consultant you send an enquiry to (they handle it under their own privacy policy). Our service providers: Cloudflare (hosting, database, email, spam checks), Stripe (consultant payments) and, only on journal pages that show ads, Google AdSense. Some of these store data overseas, including in the United States.
We only send marketing email after you confirm your address (double opt-in), in line with the Spam Act 2003. Every email identifies us and has a one-click unsubscribe.
How long we keep it
Enquiries for 12 months. Email subscribers until you unsubscribe. Feedback for as long as the listing exists (research data is kept without identifying details).
Access, correction and complaints
Email hello@sleepconsultantnearme.com to see, correct or delete your information, or to complain. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
